Join us for the inaugural New Jersey Abacus Bee math competition. The Abacus Bee is the only national abacus contest in the United States for students who are blind or low vision. The competition was created to encourage students to practice their math skills.

  • Open to blind and low vision students ages 5-21

  • Contestants can use an abacus, mental math, finger math, and / or manipulatives

  • Contests available in braille and large print

We are seeking University student and staff volunteers for the bee. If you are a staff member who holds an IAAP (CPACC, WAS, CPWA) certificate, you may earn professional development hours. To volunteer, please email the Digital Accessibility team.
