Everybody’s cognitive load fluctuates from day to day based on stress level, emotional state, health, and many other factors. People with disabilities on average experience a higher cognitive load which can make it more challenging to maintain focus, complete tasks, or learn new information. How do the digital spaces we design affect cognitive load, and what can we do to minimize cognitive load when designing these digital spaces? This class will be taught by Charlie Kreitzberg, cognitive psychologist and senior UX designer from the User Experience Office.
